Indonesia, a member of WVO, as well as one of the pioneers of WVO, was honored to hold successive International Events, namely: ‘The Indonesia International Vegan Festival & Forum 2018’ on April 13-15th, 2018.
Indonesia as part of the International Community, with the 4th largest population in the world, cannot turn a blind eye to the currents & trends of global change. The world today has clearly shifted its focus to being pro-green (eco-green environmentally / go green), and more and more international communities are turning to eco-friendly lifestyles – based on VEGETABLES (plant-based).
The high frequency of natural disasters that have occurred in the past decade, continued deforestation of natural forests, clean water crises and fears of supply of energy sources (fossil energy), are some examples of the deteriorating condition of our planet. What will happen if all this continues? The answer is enough to make us sad and concerned: maybe more natural disasters, the extinction of animal and plant species, the clean water crisis and world hunger continue.
We all need to realize that living the VEGAN lifestyle will help our planet. Eliminating our consumption habits for meat, eggs, milk and processed products, can reduce our carbon footprint and also have a positive impact on our health.Various studies have proven that: 90 – 97% of Heart Disease Can Be Avoided With a VEGETABLE DINING PATTERN (According to the American Medical Association – AMA) and 40 – 60% Cancer can be avoided by not eating meat (According to the American Cancer Society). Many studies have proven that the emergence of degenerative diseases, such as heart disease, stroke, hypertension, cancer, diabetes mellitus, obesity, osteoporosis, is very closely related to patterns of consumption of animal foods that are high in cholesterol and saturated fat.
Through this event, WVO wants to invite international communities & to do something together and contribute to a better and greener environment, health and planet earth. We believe, what we do will make a difference, and have an impact on the world around us.
